MISSION STATEMENT: ENGINEER'S OFFICE
The mission of the Warren County Engineer's Office is to provide a safe and efficient infrastructure system for the traveling public and distribution of goods and services/economic commerce by recommending and implementing programs and projects which eliminate problem areas that have been identified as functionally obsolete and/or structurally inadequate. The major work effort during the year is generated by the County's Capital Improvement Program.
Permit Application Process:
If you plan to perform any work within the County right of way, including excavation or driveway alteration, you must first obtain a County of Warren Highway Access and Construction Permit Application/Agreement.
Please complete the application and submit, via e-mail, to engineer@co.warren.nj.us, and by regular mail to the County of Warren, Wayne Dumont Jr. Administration Building, Engineer’s Office, 165 County Route #519 South, Belvidere, NJ 07823. The fee can be submitted to the same address by check or cash. Permits will not be issued until the fee is received.
Once the permit is obtained and you are ready to start work, you must by law call the New Jersey One Call at 1-800-272-1000 before you excavate. Once you have an effective mark out number you can schedule your work. You must give the County of Warren Engineer’s Office at least 24 hours notice by emailing us at engineer@co.warren.nj.us or call 908-475-6545. Please have your permit number and your One Call confirmation number available.
Warren County (name and address) needs to be listed as the Certificate Holder on the Certificate of Insurance for the applicant and on the Certificates of Insurance for any other entity for which Certificates of Insurance are required. If any Certificate of Insurance expires prior to the work being completed and accepted, an updated/un-expired Certificate of Insurance needs to be provided.
To satisfy the additional insured requirement, any contractor, subcontractor or other entity not named on the application but working within the County right of way need to supply the following three endorsements along with their Certificates of Insurance with the name and address of Warren County listed in the Schedules of each and the location of the work, if applicable:
