Warren County Meals at Home Program: Powered by Volunteers
Purpose
The Meals at Home Program (MAHP) plays a vital role in supporting seniors throughout Warren County. For many homebound seniors, this program provides a nutritious meal, a daily point of contact, and a reminder that someone cares.
For some seniors, the volunteer delivering their meal may be the only person they see that day. A quick hello, a friendly smile, or a short conversation can make a meaningful difference that goes beyond the meal. In some cases, volunteers are also the first to notice when something doesn’t seem quite right.
Volunteers
As the number of Warren County seniors needing meals continues to grow, volunteer drivers are more important than ever. Volunteers deliver meals Monday through Friday, for approximately 1 hour, helping to support older adults as they remain independent in their own homes. Volunteers often describe the experience as rewarding, as they help older adults in our community stay nourished, seen, and connected.
To volunteer, individuals must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid driver’s license, and have an hour to spare to make a difference in the lives of our Warren County seniors.
Some volunteers deliver meals every day, while others help three times a week, once a week, or even one full week each month. Whatever time you are able and willing to share is truly appreciated by the seniors of Warren County.
