Veterans Resource and Job Expo Boosts Impressive Turnout

Post Date:04/04/2025 3:17 PM

The Veterans Resource and Job Expo, hosted by Warren County Division of Aging and Disability Services at Belvidere Manor on April 3, brought together local veteran and service organizations, employers, and community leaders to provide valuable tools, resources, and opportunities for our veterans. Warren County Commissioner Director Jason J. Sarnoski came to meet local veterans and promote the many services provided by Warren County.

“Thank you to all the veterans, organizations, employers, and volunteers who made this event possible. Your support continues to make a difference in the lives of those who have given so much to our county,” remarked Sarnoski.

The event, a collaborative effort in conjunction with Warren County Veterans Coordinator / Veteran Service Officer, Jacquie Petersen, was a testament to the dedication of the community to support those who served our country. Feeding Our Heroes, volunteered their time and resources, feeding over 100 veterans at no cost and Splitenz Salon Studio was providing free haircuts.

The expo, which saw an impressive turnout from the community, featured over 70 employers and resource organizations. Among them were companies in healthcare, mental health services, and employment, as well as local hospitals, colleges, universities, county law enforcement agencies, and veteran owned businesses.

“The Warren County Veterans Resource and Job Expo was not just an event; it was a reminder of the strength of our veteran community and the support we owe them for their service,” commented Petersen.

In addition to employment opportunities, the event showcased a wide array of Veterans’ organizations, with representatives from the VA (Veterans Affairs) and DMAVA (Department of Military and Veterans Affairs) present to provide veterans with access to essential services and information.

Musical entertainment, generously provided by Derrick Baker, a five-time Broadway Emmy Award winner and John DeRosa, a rising Nashville singer-songwriter from Phillipsburg. Their performances set the tone and brought an energy to the day, reflecting the spirit of appreciation for our veterans.
